More for me the wild edge

Where spirits roam free

Purple vetch tumbling with sweet pea

Clover by the front porch

Daisies by the garden gate

Not the stuff for garden tours

Plants tended all for show

Manicured, pedigreed, prize winning

All in place and evenly spaced

Apealing to the ordered mind

My lawn is a daisy field

White faces raised to the sun

Time enough for the mower

When their lifespan is done

Somewhere deep I am moved to see

The dandelion push through

While sweet peas climb the telephone pole

Tall lupines marching ever closer

Their freedom a reflection of me
